Babysitting Adventures & The Internet Problem Part 2

Wednesday morning breakfast, half a trail mix bagel spread with peanut butter, sprinkled with dates, raisins, and sunflower seeds from a trail mix, along with a couple of apple slices.

Two small children arrived early to give me a workout. Just after they arrived Lucas informed me that the internet was back up and the rain had stopped with no help from the telephone man. This is usually how it happens and one reason the problem never gets fixed. No time for blogging though.

A quick pick me up before the workout really gets started, another peppermint mocha. It's funny I use to hate peppermint, but lately I crave it.
When Mary and I finally wore each other out, she went down for a nap and Lexi and I went to the kitchen for lunch.

I had an Amy's dairy free vegetable enchilada with beans and rice. Lexi had mac & cheese with chicken nuggets. It was nice to able to sit for a few minutes.

I got to use one of my new plates. I like the size of this one.

After lunch, while Mary was still napping, Lexi and I did some arts & crafts. With some inspiration from Blues Clues we made an egg carton caterpillar.

We used a card board carton, gel markers, and a couple of toothpicks broken in multiple places.

When Mary woke up, we took the toothpicks out of the caterpillar, so that she could play with it. She loves pretending to be Mom, with her necklace, glasses and usually a telephone.

Even Lexi got a nap before Mom returned. Boy, did she need a nap, lol. We will definitely be scheduling naps for both girls next week when they return. It was very nice. We just weren't bright enough to have them both take one at the same time. I am a firm believer in naps, lol.

After Lindsay and the girls left, I fixed a bite of dinner. I was pretty tired. I definitely got my workout. I'm just glad to have had Lucas to help out. I will be lost without him next week.

For dinner I fixed Amy's spinach lasagna. Surprisingly I didn't have much of an appetite.

It was cheesing and delicious, but I would still prefer homemade. As good as some frozen dinners are, they just can't take the place of homemade food.

I settled for a piece of chocolate for dessert, a Russell Stover coconut cream in milk chocolate, my reward for surviving the day. These would be so much better in dark chocolate.

I was anxious to get online after dinner. I didn't even get to tweet about my internet being down. Well, I am finally getting caught up, but it's getting late, so I'm headed for bed. BTW The telephone man never showed. I didn't even get a confirmation call, but the internet continues to work. It makes me wonder. Also tomorrows post may not get out by email deadline, but it will be posted. Have a great night/day!!!

A Cold Coming On

This morning has gotten off to a bad start, awake a couple of hours before my alarm went off. It seems that DH has manage to pass on his cold germs to me. I had started to feel it yesterday, but was hoping it was just allergies, but this morning it seems to be more like a cold, with sinus pressure, scratchy throat, and a headache.

I didn't feel great yesterday, but luckily, I didn't feel too bad either. I started off the day yesterday with another of my banana pudding smoothies with peanut butter and cinnamon. I really enjoyed this yesterday, but thoughts of it today do not seem as pleasant. All I can manage to do this morning is sneeze.

Yesterday I had one of Amy's bowls for lunch, the tortilla casserole with black beans. I was also drinking quite a bit of water yesterday due to my scratchy throat. I always drink water, but I think I drank more than usual yesterday.

This is my favorite of Amy's bowls. Have you tried it?

Another piece of strawberry birthday cake; a big strawberry with this one.

Before going to Zumba class, I had a tuna salad sandwich. The tuna salad was made with mayo, mustard and dill pickles. The bun was huge, so I didn't have anything else with it.

Dale & Lucas bought the buns at the Walmart deli. They were impressed with them, raving about how good they were. I just love Walmart's breads, usually, but I was not as impressed with it as they were. It had a sort of sweet taste to it, which I didn't particularly care for. I will be leaving these buns for the guys.

Sweet is fine when it comes to candy, but I opt out for it when it comes to bread.

I had this sweet snack before Zumba as well.

We had a great night at Zumba. I was hoping that we'd be a bit cooler, since the outside temps have been more mild, but we still managed to work up a sweat. I had considered increasing my weights that we use during some of our songs, but decide that since I didn't do much exercise last week, I would stay with the same 3lb. weights I've been using. It was a wise decision. My arms were really feeling it during the workout. I'm so glad I was not feeling too bad to go to Zumba. I really missed going last week.

After Zumba I had one of Millville's Get Balance granola bars with a few pecans.

After a shower and a little reading, it was off to bed, just a little after eleven. Score! I'd really expected to have another late night, but managed to do quite well. Go me!! Have you had a "Go Me" moment lately? Tell me about it. Happy Wednesday!!

It's Difficult To Make Changes

Up a little early this morning, but I'm still sleepy. I've already manage to get sidetracked this morning. It doesn't take much.

As you can see I had another smoothie for breakfast, a strawberry banana smoothie. I finished off the last of my strawberries. I almost forgot I had them. My breakfast photos alway seem pretty boring, but I can't help it. I've been trying to change things up little with some cereal bowls thrown in here and there. At least you can tell it's a different photo with those. Maybe eventually, I can do something to make the smoothie photos more interesting. Any ideas?

I had the girls (Lexi & Mary) yesterday. I really wasn't expecting them. I totally forgot that Lindsay had ask me to watch them. Now that was interesting. Lexi is always a ball of energy and Miss Mary is getting to be quite a character herself. I am forever laughing at her. I tried to get some videos of her being cute, but then she just sat there and didn't do anything. I didn't get any photos. Those two keep me hoppin'. I barely got lunch. I fixed them grilled cheese sandwiches and I had Amy's spinach lasagna. Lexi ate a few bites of my lasagna. She liked it. She wanted her own, but I only had the one. Maybe next time, if I remember their coming, I can make one and see how she likes it.

Amy's is very good, but I bet homemade would be even better. Anyone have a good recipe for spinach lasagna? I'll have to do a search, I guess.

After lunch, Mary and I had a few Honey Nut Cheerios. Nibbling hardly ever gets photographed. I did get a shot of my coconut creamsicle, but that was after the girls left. Mary fell off to sleep right before Lindsay got her and Lexi was in desperate need of a nap. She just needed to be still for 5 minutes. She usually gets hers on the way home.

We made a run to the store before dinner. I picked up breakfast supplies and 5gum, then it was back home to fix dinner, which didn't take long. I had leftover chili beans with a few black beans thrown in. I'd planned on having my chili beans with the last piece of cornbread, but someone, who shall remain nameless, beat me to it, so I got stuck with some less desirable Spicy Dorito pieces.

I toasted the Doritos for a couple of minutes and added some shredded cheddar to my beans. Warm Doritos are better and we all know chili and cheese go together.

No nap yesterday. I did have a cup of green tea which escaped the camera, as a pick me up, as well as a few peanut butter pretzels. The tea came as soon as I realized I would have the girls and the pretzels came later. I was super tired, still didn't get to bed any earlier. I'm trying, but apparently not hard enough. I guess I really need to buckle down, if I'm going to get back on schedule. Well, slightly sidetracked again. I'd better get this up before it's too late. Happy Thursday!!
