Greenie Linguine

I slept better last night just not long enough apparently. I was feeling pretty tired when my alarm went off, but I don't think I could have gone back to sleep anyway. My mind was in high gear. I'm just glad it didn't kick in until time to get up. I still felt like I needed my coffee. I had another cinnamon roll with my coffee.

I had 2 of my favorite girls over today. Lexi went with Lindsay for her 5 year appointment. Lindsay snapped this shot of Rachel snoozing. She sure is growing like a weed. You can tell by her tummy, she getting the good stuff, lol.

Lexi joined me for lunch. I had a peppered tofurky wrap with butter lettuce, light ranch, shredded colby cheese, and a jalapeno pickle spear. I also had some raisins. Lexi had a cheese quesadilla, extra shredded cheese, plain dill pickle slices and some vanilla yogurt. Mary had some raisins when she woke from nap. I would have gotten more pictures of lunch and the kids, but my camera was being weird and didn't charge for some reason. It gave the battery exhausted signal after the pictures of Rachel and one of lunch and then cut off. I changed outlets and luckily it finally charged after that.

I was feeling pretty exhausted myself after the girls went home. My coffee apparently had worn off. I had a cup of lemon ginseng green tea with sourwood honey and half an everything bagel with cream cheese for my afternoon snack. I was trying to keep my eyes open, it wasn't working. I decided to take a nap afterwards.

For dinner I made linguine. It was much greener than the pictures shows. I cooked my noodles with some onion, carrot slices and frozen broccoli, then I added some pesto, alfredo sauce, and Italian blend cheese. It  looked much better before adding the cheese, but it was really good regardless.

I had the last of the key lime cookie straws after dinner.

I tried to get an early start on the blog tonight, but somehow it didn't work out. I liked it better when it was getting dark sooner. I'm always late getting dinner started, etc. when it stays light out longer. Now it's almost time to start over. I think I'll try to catch a few Z's first and I do mean a few. Have a great night/day!!!

Mt. Olive Jalapeno Flavored Dill Spears Review

The day started out in a rush. A rush to get breakfast for myself and my puppies, to see they all had fresh water and went out before I left. I also put me some lunch together before leaving.  I made a banana pudding smoothie for breakfast, which might be my last for a little while. It seems my hand blender chopping attachment is broken. I had always been afraid it might since it is made of plastic. I will probably just order a replacement though, since the rest of the blender still works and it did last for quite a while. I think the smoothies may be what done it in though. My next one will be one with a metal attachment, if this on does't last. I would highly recommend a metal one if you are shopping for one.

I went to Lindsay's again yesterday. I stayed home today to tend to my own house. I hope she is getting along ok today.  I was hoping to have my blogging done last night so that I could work on the house today, but my internet was down last night, %^&*()#@! I'm not sure why.

I had a tofurky sandwich for lunch with colby pepper jack cheese and light ranch dressing. Reese had some Mt. Olive Jalapeno flavored dill spears, which I tried. They were very good and went well with my sandwich. They do have a good jalapeno flavor and are a bit spicy, but not overwhelming. It really depends on what you consider "hot". I may have to get my own jar.  I'm giving them 5 stars, after all, they are Mt. Olive brand, which are my favorite.

Here's a picture of Rachel sleeping on Mom's lap. It did turn out to be a decent (private joke) picture.

The day was sort of working against me, first, my hand blender broke, then I forgot my camera and purse at Lindsay's and later my internet was down. Oh, yeah and then I'd used my spare camera for snack photo, but have misplaced the cord to upload the photos. Has someone put a curse on my blog? I'm hoping it was a one day deal. The missing snacks were just a handful or bite of this and that. I had a long list of snacks though. First was a few pretzel M&M's, then some raisins & dry roasted peanuts. I also had one double stuffed Oreo. I was really trying to stay awake.

Luckily while I was gone to the store Reese brought my purse with my camera. Thanks, Reese! I was able to get a shot of my last snack. I had a few saltine crackers with canned salmon and shredded colby cheese melted on top. I had this while we were making dinner.

We all actually ate the same thing for dinner, which doesn't happen very often, since I am surrounded by meat eaters. We made a big pot of potato soup with onion, cream cheese and chives.

I think it needed a bit more potato, but it was still very good. I'd also intended to throw a few veggies into my bowl, but by the time the soup was ready, I'd completely forgotten, until I was sitting down to eat. I'd also intended to make cornbread, but didn't realize, I was out of cornmeal.
I suppose it's better late than never, but hopefully today will be a smoother ride. You would think I would be use to all the bumps and pot holes by now.  Have a great day!!!!

I Survived Without My Camera Barely

Ok, I'll just tell you straight out that this morning is not a good morning for me. I really feel extra crappy today, but hopefully it will pass. If not, I'll just go back to bed.

This is post one of two I will hopefully get done today. The photos in this post are from 2 days ago, when I left my camera at Lindsay's house and couldn't upload or take photos ( not decent ones anyway).

This photo was taken with my camera before I left it. It's my breakfast/ brunch, whatever.  I had an egg sandwich on a Nature's Own Multi Grain Sandwich Round.

I scrambled my egg with green pepper and onion and placed it on the bun along with a hash brown patty, muenster cheese, spinach and taco sauce.

I've eaten this before with different cheese and no spinach. I like it better with the spinach and cheddar probably would have been better and maybe a big slice of tomato.

My snack before going to Lindsay.

My trip to Lindsay's was a little unexpected. She had a minor emergency and I went to stay with the girls while they napped. In my rush to get home to get ready for Zumba I forgot my purse (including camera). Luckily (or not so luckily) my phone was in my jacket pocket, which I had on. I do not have a smart phone, it just a notch above stupid and the camera is really crappy. To make matters worse, my phone would not send the phones to email because my sd card needed formated, so I had to take the card out of the phone, put it in my card reader and transfer the photos to the computer before formating; a lot more trouble than with my camera, but not so bad, now that I have the card straightened out.

The next photo was taken with my phone. It's not as bad as I'd expected, but I won't be using my phone's camera for the blog anymore unless there's a crisis.  This is my quickly thrown together dinner before Zumba, which I wasn't sure I would be able to get to on time.

I had a tuna sandwich on a sandwich round with mustard, mayo, and spinach. I also had some broccoli, carrots, grape tomatoes and ranch on the side along with a dill pickle spear.
Setting the stage.
(Sirens going off now, I have 25 dogs howling at once as I type.)

I was so tired after zumba and even though I'd eaten before zumba, I was still up for a snack, so I had a yogurt and cereal parfait, another fine photo from my phone. I had planned to run by Lindsay's to pic up my purse and my camera, on the way home, but being the person I am, I totally forgot, so to avoid another trip out, I did without.

My parfait included, gala apple chunks, bran flakes, vanilla yogurt, cinnamon, walnuts, and warm peanut butter. Yummy!!!

Oh, well, I tried. Hopefully you get the idea anyway.

So this is one post down and another to follow. It will post to twitter when I get the next one up. I'd like to get a FB page for the blog, but I'm not sure I need one yet. I could use some more subscribers, Twitter followers as well. Happy Thursday and thanks for taking a look at my ADD blog!!!

Tummy Trouble

Late night last night, late start this morning. Yesterday started out pretty good with a nice hot cup of coffee, a pumpkin waffle with cream cheese drizzled with syrup & sprinkled with cinnamon, and half a gala apple thinly sliced.

Just a little creamer and coconut sugar in my coffee.

The waffle was super yummy!

Before going to Mom & Lynda's for Sunday dinner I had a cheesy snack. I coarsely chopped sharp white cheddar and sprinkled it over tortilla chip, then I put them in the microwave long enough to melt the cheese. I pulled apart the cheesy gooey chips and dipped them in hot fire roasted salsa which Lucas had pureed. He's picky and doesn't like the chunks so, if it gets him to eat it, I'm perfectly fine with it.

There was lots of food for our Sunday dinner. First up, a pan of vegetable lasagna which was pretty good except for the zucchini, which I picked out.

Fried Chicken

Cubed Steak

Broccoli Casserole

Mashed Potatoes

Stuffing

Green Beans & Potatoes

Salads w/ Cucumber & Tomato on the side.

I forgot to bring home pasta salad. I was feeling sort of overwhelmed yesterday for some reason.

Angel Biscuits

My plate was packed with a bit of everything. I had some of the lasagna, broccoli casserole, green beans, salad, potatoes, and also a MSF riblet, so that I wouldn't starve, lol.
I even tried a couple of Hershey's Pumpkin Spice Kisses and had a cup of coffee off camera a little later.
Needless to say, I was stuffed after eating all that food. I really didn't eat quite all that was on my plate. My stomach was feeling kind of yucky since my morning snack and yet I ate too much anyway. It continued to get worse after dinner. I didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day. I did fix a cup of Moroccan Mint Tea to try and sooth my stomach, but I didn't get to drink much of it.

Lindsay and Reese called needing me to take care of the girls while Lindsay went to the hospital. She has been having severe acid reflux problems during her pregnancy. We dropped everything and rushed over to their house to pick up the girls. It was a late night getting them settled and waiting for Lindsay & Reese to get back. I didn't get a lot of blogging accomplished, got to bed super late and slept in this morning, which is why I'm getting this post out late. Luckily everything is fine and everyones' tummies are straightened, for the moment. Now I'm off to feed my puppies who tummies are empty and are impatiently waiting for their food. Happy Monday & Happy Halloween!!!

Babysitting Adventures & The Internet Problem

Back to the blog again this morning, still trying to catch up, wishing I'd done Tuesday's post off line as well.

Tuesday started off a little earlier than usual. My two favorite girls and I were going to spend the day together. Not use to having little ones around for that long at one time made for an interesting day. It was a little disorganized, but we did it and we had a good time.

Breakfast was rushed. I grabbed the quickest easiest thing I had, the last piece of red velvet birthday cake, ah, the breakfast of champions. This is actually half of 2 pieces stacked on top of each other. Lucas ate the other half. It doesn't look to great, but that didn't affect the taste.

I also had a few dry roasted almonds, so that it didn't feel like a completely unhealthy breakfast.

The rest of the day was spent playing, running back and forth between the two kids. They are a busy set. Having two kids of your own is just a little different from having two that belong to someone else. First of all my home is not exactly kid friendly. Secondly, I have routines, they routines and the two routines don't always work together exactly, but things did go more smoothly than expected. Meals wasn't one of them. It was a grab and go kind of day.

For lunch Lucas fixed some potatoes O'Brien. I grabbed a bowl of them with the last of the leftover Manwich sauce and a sprinkle of Monterey Jack cheese. It wasn't exactly what I would have chosen otherwise, but it was there, it was ready and it filled the void.

I didn't sleep well the night before & neither did Lucas who was helping me with the girls, so we also fixed some coffee and using a package of Ghirardelli Peppermint Cocoa Mix, we made ourselves some Peppermint Mochas.

I added a little extra peppermint syrup to mine. It was pretty good. It definitely helped up keep up with the kids.

We all snacked on apple chips, even Mary had one.

The kids snacked and ate on & off all day long, not really stopping for a real meal. By the time Mom came back, we had filled several plates & juice cups, watched several tv shows & movies, even though Netflix was down and Lexi had typed on the computer we'd set up for her. We'd installed Kidoz for her, but without internet it was useless, luckily she reads and writes and was happy to type out "her bills". We also had a wireless keyboard and mouse for Mary who was happy clicking and pushing buttons herself. It was quite a day.

After Lindsay and the girls went home I sat down with a Stouffer's French bread cheese pizza, which was not bad but not quite as good as I'd hoped. The sauce was just alright, sort of bland for pizza sauce and under the cheese and sauce was a layer of soggy bread. I suppose this is unavoidable being pre-made and frozen, but not a problem with regular frozen pizza. I gave it a 3 and would probably choose to stick with regular frozen pizza or make my own French bread pizza using my favorite sauce. It would be nearly as simple and I could choose my preferred toppings as well.

My reward for a hard day of playing was a Reese's flavored Klondike Bar. Yummy!!

After enjoying a little sit down time, I got around to calling about the internet problem. After 3 calls and answering lots of questions and doing lots of plugging and unplugging of cords and cables the phone company finally decided they would send someone out the next day to check it out, so still no internet on Tuesday. I was sort of disgusted and didn't even fool with the blog other than uploading my photos (mistake). Now I'm trying to get caught up. For now I'm posting the events a day at a time so I'll get to the rest of the story of "Babysitting Adventures & the Internet Problem", in the next post which we be up hopefully sometime between today & tomorrow. Happy Thursday!!

Rained Out

Due to impaired internet and early morning babysitting for the passed two days, I am just now doing my blog posts for Monday & Tuesday. I've had to work off line hoping that internet would be back up in time to publish Monday's post, but unfortunately it was down until this morning (Wednesday). I've been babysitting all day, so I'm just now getting around to getting online. Since this post was mostly already done off line it will go rather quickly. I'll do my best with the rest. Thanks for your patience.

I had a fruit & yogurt cereal bowl for breakfast.

The next best thing to a smoothie.

I used a cup of Chobani Greek vanilla yogurt, ground flax, cornflakes, Kellogg's Fiber Plus Yogurt Berry Crunch, Cheerios, gala apple chunks, dried raspberries pecans, and raisins from my Raspberry Supreme Nut mix, and cinnamon sprinkled on top of it all.

Lunch was birthday dinner leftovers. I had green beans, stuff pepper, and salad with ranch dressing.

I had a piece of my red velvet birthday cake for my afternoon snack. It would have been nice to have some ice cream with it, but I really didn't need the extra calories. I did splurge with the piece I had on Sunday and I have sweets available for the rest of the week. You really have to splurge occasionally unfortunately, I splurge too often.

For dinner I decided to repeat the Nature's Own Sandwich round mini cheese pizzas. I still had Manwich sauce left, so I decided to make a couple of them. I got one of them a little over browned, but not burnt.

I still say they're pretty good.

I also had a cup of Chobani Greek lemon yogurt. It's been a while. It was just as good as I remembered it. BTW Chobani almost always gets 5 stars, you should try it. Vanilla is my usual for yogurt, but the lemon has to be one of my favorite flavors of Chobani. It's not that sweet lemon flavor you get with most lemon yogurt. Chobani lemon has a tart lemon flavor. It reminds me of lemonade.

After my Chobani, I went to upload my photos and get started on the blog. It had also just started raining. I got online and noticed there was no internet connection. I was connected to my router, but I had no internet. It was gone just like that. I figured it was too late to do anything and I couldn't stay up waiting on it to come back on (Sometimes it does. I've been having problems with it for a while, but they've never actually fixed it, because it comes and goes.) I had to get to bed so that I could get up early.  I figured I would try to get this post up before the girls got here the next morning. Unfortunately it did not work out that way. Two days later, I'm finally getting everything posted. Hope you enjoy. Have a great night/day!!! I tell you the rest of the story in the next post.
