The Whole Resolution Thing Is Not Going Well

This morning I wasn't quite on the ball, even though I'd finished up a little early the night before and gotten my post published. I still managed to stay up later than I should have. I'd decided since I was early finishing up, I would read for a few minutes before going to bed. Well, I'm getting into the last half of the book and it's starting to get interesting and I just kept reading. Before I knew it, it was quite a bit later than I'd intended. If I'm going to start getting more sleep, I think I'm going to have to do better.

I definitely needed coffee this morning. The girls arrived before I knew it and I hadn't even gotten my coffee started. I fixed their breakfast and eventually got my own ( if you can call it that). I had a big cup of half caf. with creamer & raw sugar and a small bowl of Quaker Oatmeal Squares. I just ate the cereal dry with my coffee.  The girls had cheese grits and strawberry yogurt. Mary had a few dry roasted peanuts while the grits cooked.

We rolled our hair up in curlers, did yoga and played tennis and baseball on the Wii. We also watched Kipper and Blue Clues. I had leftover pizza for lunch and the girls had Mac & Cheese.

I was glad for something quick and easy.

Lexi & I also had a few fresh veggies with ranch and we all shared a green apple. I ate the peeling mostly and a couple of slices. Mary and Lexi had the rest without the peel.

Later after the girls had gone home. I had a piece of leftover carrot cake and then took a short nap.

I had a bowl of soup after my nap. I really need more sleep to keep up with the girls, especially if I'm going to be playing games on the Wii and doing yoga.

Just one bowl this evening.

I also satisfied my salt craving with a few Cheetos.
Did you make a resolution? How's it going?
Now, I'm off to bed and I plan to sleep in a bit. We'll see how it goes. Have a great night/day!!!

Monkeying Around

The day started off sort of rough. I wasn't really enthused about getting up at 7am and I didn't. I finally got up around 7:30.  I had some last minute baby proofing to do and wanted to get a shower before the girls arrived. I managed to squeeze both in. The morning was rushed and a little chaotic, but not bad. I probably could have used a great big cup of coffee, but I skipped it this morning. The girls had cheese grits and I had half an everything bagel with cream cheese.

After breakfast the kids and I did a little monkeying around. They put on monkey masks and ate bananas. They also colored some monkey faces on sticks with crayons. I didn't get pictures of those. They mostly played with their Innotabs and then Lexi and I played Wii Sports while Mary took a nap. We played baseball, golf and even did some boxing, which was a real workout, even for Lexi. We were both ready to rest after that.

I had leftover chili beans with a crumbled MSF griller patty. I added water, chili powder, garlic, and onion powder, to stretch things a bit.

I topped my chili with a few broken up Texas Pete flavored potato chips. I would have like more chips with it, but it was filling enough as it was.
While deciding what to have for dinner, I had a couple of pieces of peanut brittle.
For dinner, I had mixed vegetables with some more of the GV seasoned deli style potato wedges.

I fixed the frozen veggies in the microwave covered in water with about a quarter tsp each, salt and sugar and just a dab of butter.

All I wanted to do this evening was eat. I also had an apple with some peanut butter and graham crackers.

I still kept thinking about food. More apple and graham crackers would have been good, but I only had the one plate full. I'm still not satisfied, but I'm fighting it with a glass of water. It wasn't a bad day, but I am so ready for bed. After all I did have two little monkeys kicking my butt today. Well I'm off to try and get a few pages of my book read before bed. Have a great night/day!!!

Getting Crafty

This morning I got up fairly early. I think I slept pretty good. I can't remember if I actually got up or just dreamed I did, so I'm assuming I dreamt it. Dreamed or dreamt, which is it?

Anyway, I felt pretty ambitious when I got up. I did some cleaning, threw in a load of clothes, which I forgot to start, lol, and will do that shortly,  got a shower, and had some lunch, all before the girls arrived.

Lindsay asked Lexi what she wanted for breakfast this morning and Lexi told her she would wait and eat at Mimi's. I thought that was funny, lol. She might have been disappointed to find that all I had was a cup of yogurt, oh and I did have 2 cups of coffee, which I somehow totally forgot to get a photo of. I didn't even think about it until just now, probably because I didn't eat enough for breakfast, but that is one of the side effects of drinking coffee, suppressed appetite.

After rushing around trying to get as much done as possible, I slowed down long enough to get a bite to eat, even eating felt rushed. I had an Amy's Black Bean Enchilada dinner with beans and rice.

I literally took the last bite as the girls came through the door. It's so much easier, if I get my food out of the way before they get here. I usually don't take as much time for my food when they are here.

I mostly chase after Mary and try to keep them both happy. Lexi and I usually have our time when Mary takes a nap. Today we did crafts. I'm not sure what this is suppose to be, but Lexi enjoyed gluing lots of different things to paper. She also strung beads onto pipe cleaners for bracelets. Sorry, no shot of those.

Mary was still napping when Lindsay got back. Lindsay gave Lexi a bath while she was here while Mary slept and I had a piece of garlic toast.

I also fixed myself some cucumber slices and Garlic Caesar dressing as Lexi was getting out of the tub. She decided she wanted to try some of my snack, which she liked and wanted a plate of her own.

While fixing her plate she also decided to have some celery and broccoli. The broccoli disappeared before the photo was taken. She also went with Ranch dressing for dipping instead of Caesar.

I refilled my plate with more veggies and for inspiration Lexi and I watch a video of a wood chipper in action as we ate our little trees.

After our green snack and Mary had woke up, the three of us shared DH's cheesecake blizzard. Ya, snooze ya, lose in this house, when it comes to sweets. The girls had cones with their ice cream. I made sure to sugar them up good before sending them home, right? Oh well, that's what Mimi is for.

After everyone went home and as if I hadn't had enough, I had a bowl of spaghetti noodles with butter, parmesan, salt and black pepper. All my snacking put together was sort of like dinner anyway, so that was it.
The sad part is that I've still been thinking about food since, but I haven't had a thing. I've also been thinking about the only 3 pair of jeans I have that still fit and the 5 or 6  others that hang in my closet laughing at me. I wish I'd been thinking of that while eating that blizzard. I'll try to do better tomorrow. Have a great night/day!!!

I'm No Professional

It doesn't take a professional to see that this post's photos are bad. I didn't expect them to be great, but these look worse than usual. I'm not sure if the camera is being weird or if it's something I did. It doesn't help that the lighting my my house is terrible. I don't have a window in the kitchen, yet the weather effects the lighting in there and it doesn't help that it has been cloudy for two days.

Yesterday I had the girls. I managed to get coffee made before they got here. I didn't get to drink any of it until after I got their breakfast fixed. They had bananas before getting to my house and then had grits and cheese toast here. I had a large cup of half caf. coffee with just a little raw sugar and my slice of pumpkin nut roll and an apple. I decided to have the dessert as a meal instead of a snack. I was really full after eating breakfast. I think half an apple would have been enough.

We had lunch before the kids went home. They had chicken nuggets. I hate feeding them chicken nuggets, but they are so picky. They also had peanut butter sandwiches. I wish they'd eat more veggies. Mary wasn't a big eater yesterday. She is cutting teeth and wasn't feeling great. I had the last of my Chinese food (broccoli in garlic sauce & white rice) with one of my leftover crab cakes and the crab rangoons for lunch.

Off camera, I added a little soy sauce to the rice.

My afternoon snack was a little bowl of cheese puffs.

Before dinner I put up my Christmas tree. I've had it in the living room for several days, but had never gotten around to putting it up. I didn't get it decorated, as of now, it's just a naked pre-lit tree. I'm sort of undecided about how I want to decorate it. I swear it gets shorter every year. I always expect it to be a taller tree, but it never is, which is probably a good thing, given that space is very limited.

I had Smart Ones Mini Rigatoni in Vodka sauce with a slice of garlic toast for dinner.

A salad on the side would have been nice, but I was out of lettuce and not really in the mood to fix anything else anyway.

I had a lemon Chobani to fill the void, along with a few more cheese puffs. Those things are junk, but I'm addicted, which is one reason I don't buy them very often. Rule #1, if you don't bring it home, you won't eat it.

After dinner we watched a little tv; "Two Broke Girls" night. I also sorted through my crappy pictures and did a little reading before bed. Now I'm heading into the kitchen to fix a pot of coffee. I am feeling the need for it lately. Happy Tuesday!!!

Tummy Trouble

Late night last night, late start this morning. Yesterday started out pretty good with a nice hot cup of coffee, a pumpkin waffle with cream cheese drizzled with syrup & sprinkled with cinnamon, and half a gala apple thinly sliced.

Just a little creamer and coconut sugar in my coffee.

The waffle was super yummy!

Before going to Mom & Lynda's for Sunday dinner I had a cheesy snack. I coarsely chopped sharp white cheddar and sprinkled it over tortilla chip, then I put them in the microwave long enough to melt the cheese. I pulled apart the cheesy gooey chips and dipped them in hot fire roasted salsa which Lucas had pureed. He's picky and doesn't like the chunks so, if it gets him to eat it, I'm perfectly fine with it.

There was lots of food for our Sunday dinner. First up, a pan of vegetable lasagna which was pretty good except for the zucchini, which I picked out.

Fried Chicken

Cubed Steak

Broccoli Casserole

Mashed Potatoes

Stuffing

Green Beans & Potatoes

Salads w/ Cucumber & Tomato on the side.

I forgot to bring home pasta salad. I was feeling sort of overwhelmed yesterday for some reason.

Angel Biscuits

My plate was packed with a bit of everything. I had some of the lasagna, broccoli casserole, green beans, salad, potatoes, and also a MSF riblet, so that I wouldn't starve, lol.
I even tried a couple of Hershey's Pumpkin Spice Kisses and had a cup of coffee off camera a little later.
Needless to say, I was stuffed after eating all that food. I really didn't eat quite all that was on my plate. My stomach was feeling kind of yucky since my morning snack and yet I ate too much anyway. It continued to get worse after dinner. I didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day. I did fix a cup of Moroccan Mint Tea to try and sooth my stomach, but I didn't get to drink much of it.

Lindsay and Reese called needing me to take care of the girls while Lindsay went to the hospital. She has been having severe acid reflux problems during her pregnancy. We dropped everything and rushed over to their house to pick up the girls. It was a late night getting them settled and waiting for Lindsay & Reese to get back. I didn't get a lot of blogging accomplished, got to bed super late and slept in this morning, which is why I'm getting this post out late. Luckily everything is fine and everyones' tummies are straightened, for the moment. Now I'm off to feed my puppies who tummies are empty and are impatiently waiting for their food. Happy Monday & Happy Halloween!!!
