Out And About

I'm managed to cram all the food for the day into just four photo. Visually it doesn't seem like a lot. but physically, I'm still miserably full.

I started the day off with a large cup of half caf and an apple danish. I got an early and unexpected invitation to go shopping, a GDO with Mom & Lynda. Well, you know I'm in.

We hit the Good Wills in the area. No shortage of those here. Love that. I got a new 2 me pair of jeans; so comfortable, perfect fit. Unfortunately, I've gone up a size, which is sort of depressing. We went to Ruby Tuesday's to eat lunch after hitting the GW's

I had a delicious salad of spring mix, green peppers, red onion, edamame, broccoli, tomato, mushroom, jalapeno, cheddar cheese, light ranch, and brown bread croutons. I also had a couple of their complementary cheddar biscuits.

I got a Saratoga water to drink and some of their apple salad, which I didn't eat but a few bites of. The apples tasted like they been frozen or something and it had a weird flavor with reminded me of beer.  Normally I love their apple salad. I'm not sure if it was the salad or me, but I wasn't taking any chances.

After lunch, we also went to Kohl's and Walmart. We attempted to go to the Habitat's Restore, but was too late, they were closing. We stopped of and picked up dinner at Long John Silvers. I ate everything, but the slaw. which was still too much. I was miserable afterwards. I should have known better.

I fooled around too long on the internet doing absolutely nothing and now I am up, way too late, still filling miserably full. I don't have to be up early tomorrow, but that doesn't mean I'll get to sleep late. The pups will see to that. I'm outta here. Have a great night/day!!!

Girls Day Out

I had a late night last night & overslept this morning. I left my alarm(my phone) in my purse, so this is what you get until I update. I'm posting as is so that my email subscribers get their email. Sorry!

Updated 6-2-11 9:40am

Apples for breakfast. The whole nondairy thing is really throwing me off on breakfast. I also got a call from Lynda inviting me on a GDO, so while I was getting ready I also munched on a few peanut butter pretzels.
We shopped 'til we dropped, hitting the goodwill, Sears, & stopping by Starbucks for an off camera Coconut Mocha. Mom & I got purses on clearance. I also got a vacuum cleaner at goodwill for $10 that didn't work. It would run, but would not pick up, because an access door for cleaning out clogs was missing. Fortunately after a little red neck engineering, I think I have it somewhat fixed. It still doesn't have the greatest suction power. We were all starving by the time we stopped for lunch.

Ruby Tuesday salad for lunch. Winner!
Spring mix, spinach, red onion, carrot, green pepper, sun dried tomatoes, edamame, Parmesan cheese, dark croƻtons, sunflower seeds, & balsamic vinaigrette. Yum!!

After stopping off at Walmart for groceries for Sunday dinner, we headed home or back to Mom's at least. There we had a snack while waiting for dinner. Cheese & Crackers, for me. Pepperoni & Canadian Bacon for the meat eaters.

The cheese & crackers was mainly for the men, although I did have a couple of pieces of the uncontaminated cheese. I also had a cinnamon roll, Lynda made more, & an Oreo with my coffee. I love Oreos, but I don't buy them, because I will eat them, lol, and I don't need to eat them.

Finally the pizza is done. We accidentally turned off the oven after the first pizza, so ours took a bit longer, lol. We had a Mediterranean veggie from Walmart. Their pizzas are pretty good.
After pizza I went home and tried out my new vacuum and of course it irritated me that is didn't work, so I had to work on it, which made for a late night. It didn't take that long, but I still had to upload pics & get ready for bed. I was pooped. I did sleep pretty good apparently. Well now that the blog is updated, I'm off for a bit of nondairy breakfast. Happy Saturday!! Enjoy your weekend!

Breakfast Is Now My Favorite Meal

I always hated breakfast before because mostly I don't eat normal breakfast food, at least not Southern breakfast food - biscuits, gravy, grits, bacon, ham, etc., but at home breakfast is my favorite meal. Breakfast was really good this morning, similar to what I've had lately.

Vanilla yogurt
Special K
Cheerios
Kix
Fuji Apple chunks
chopped walnuts
ground flax
cinnamon
Yummo!!!
Since I didn't sleep so well last night, breakfast was late. I got up at the same time as usual, but I had to get a few things done as soon as I got up. I had gotten quite behind on things the last couple of days. My back was very sore this morning. I sat down to rest after washing up dishes, throwing the dog rugs (what I use in their dog beds) into wash and doing a little mopping. I finally got around to fixing breakfast.  As the day went on, my back got worse. Lucky I got some things done, but then again, what I did may have been what made things worse.

I had a small glass of Tropicana Tropical Punch (love) and my multivitamin before lunch.

I had a light lunch, as the day was running late and my back felt horrible. My Aunt Patricia gave me her leftover brown rice pilaf from Ruby Tuesday's. This stuff was pretty good. I would love to know how they make it.

I know there's cheese on top and tiny diced tomato. It also has a peppery taste to it.

After my rice, I had some figgy newtons. Love these.

Dinner came after a nap. I probably shouldn't have, but between the pulled muscle in my back and lack of sleep, I just decided to lay down for a little bit. I boiled an egg to go with dinner, which was a huge salad.
Hugh Jass Salad
Romaine
Spinach
Onion
Red bell pepper
Yellow bell pepper
Carrot
Broccoli
Boiled Egg
Ground flax
Lite Caesar dressing
Black pepper

I started with the veggies. I got a shot of them since you can't really see how lovely they are covered with egg, flax, and dressing.

I use my cheese grater to shredded my egg, a trick I learned working for school food service. Yes, I was once, a lunch lady. I mostly did the sweet things, more like the cookie lady.

I had a slice of Cranberry Orange Walnut loaf/bread/whatever from The Fresh Market. I wasn't impressed. There was a certain bitterness too it. I think Lucas likes it, so it won't go to waste.

I need positive thoughts, people. Something is working against me this week and I need help. Give me some positive comments. It would be great to know someone is out there. I would also like to thank my subscribers who've steadily increased. Thanks for coming back. Cya tomorrow!

Photos, Food, & Fun

No sleep last night. Phone rings, it's an invitation. Mom and my two Aunts, Lynda & Patricia were going shopping. I had to pass last time, so I decided to go for it. I don't get to go very often. I had to unscramble my brain, let the dogs out, grab a shower, a quick breakfast and do as much as I could to the house before I left.

As you can see, breakfast was a quick fix. Vanilla yogurt (I'm likin' the Food Lion brand) not Greek but, like Chobani, less sweet than normal vanilla yogurt. I topped my yogurt with the last of my strawberries, chopped walnuts, Kix, Special K, and Cheerios. The best way to eat cereal. Love the crunch.

First we went to Hobby Lobby to look at craft stuff, etc. I would love to decorate my house with things from Hobby Lobby. I'd love to win a shopping spree for that store. Next we went to Walmart. Mom got a new light bulb for her range hood so Sunday pics will be better, if not, I guess I'll be takin' the blame.

We had lunch at one of my favorite places....Ruby Tuesday. I just love their salad bar.

We got there after the lunch crowd so the bar wasn't lookin' it's freshest, but it was just as good.

Lots of salad toppings to choose from. I didn't even get pictures of everything.

A variety of salad dressings.

There was dark brown croutons and sunflower seeds, everyone loved them so the bowls were lookin' skimpy.

My plate piled high with everything but the kitchen sink.

Butter lettuce, spinach, broccoli, red onion, green bell, sundried tomatoes, peas, cucumber, mozzarella, parmesan, sunflower seeds, dark brown croutons (my favorite, gotta make some), and balsamic vinaigrette. Did I miss anything?..... probably.

They also brought some cheddar biscuits by request, which I didn't eat, but I wasn't impressed with the looks of them. They were very small and really greasy looking. Those who ate them didn't rave about them either, so I assume they weren't all that great. (Update)Lucas ate the leftover biscuit - Thumbs Down - He said it was sweet and he didn't care for it.
To the Mall....JCPenney, Mom and Lynda armed with their $10 coupons. They have great sales. Afterward we went to Starbucks to get our coffee fix. This isn't a shot of the one we went to, but you get the idea, right?

I got a Decaf, Peppermint Mocha Latte. Again not the actual one from today, but.....

I also had a little scare. I thought I'd lost my camera, but luckily it had fallen out of my hand while I was putting leftovers in the back of the car, found it later.

When I got home I was sort of light headed and felt kind of yucky. I think my sugar was low or something. I got a couple of triscuits and this piece of pumpkin cake/loaf/whatever that Lynda gave me. The cake was good and so were the triscuits. Shortly afterwards, I felt better, so I am assuming it was a sugar thing.

I fixed myself a sort of taco salad once I got to feeling better. I added some red and yellow bell pepper to a little leftover side salad that Mom sent home with me, along with a crumbled veggie burger, Mexican blend cheese, taco seasoning, light sour cream and salsa. This hit the spot, all it needed was some tortilla chips, but I'd had plenty of pre-dinner carbs, so I skipped the chips.

Got no sleep, had lots of fun, got lots of photos, had great food, should've got a tshirt. Night Y'all

Where's your favorite place to eat and why?
