Christmas Eve Family, Food, And Fun

I could have slept in just one more morning. Yesterday was nice. I hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as we did. This is how my Christmas Eve went, with lots of pictures.

I started off the day with a yogurt cereal bowl with bran flakes, cheerios and strawberry yogurt.

After breakfast we got ready and headed over to Mom's to have our Christmas Eve family get together.

We did some pre-dinner munching of lots of goodies. We had a cheddar cheese ball with crackers. I nibbled one and moved on for a variety of snacks without getting too full for dinner.

I had a handful of chex mix.....

....and a few veggies with lite ranch dressing from this lovely platter of raw veggies.

There were also peanut chews, which I love, that have peanuts, of course and marshmallow with a sort of cookie crumb bottom.

I had half of one and called it quits on the munching. There was also cookies which I missed and assorted candy  and probably something else that didn't make into the long line of photos.

Mom made some cheese and crab stuffed mushrooms

Summer sausage

Turkey breast

Meatballs

Honey ham

A meatless baked ziti.

Pasta Salad

Potato Salad

Plain Potatoes

Green Beans w/ Onion

Corn

Angel Biscuits

I had some more of the raw veggies, a stuff mushroom, green beans, and potato salad.

Lexi discovered the presents right away and could hardly wait to open them. There were even more presents after everyone got there.

Mom got a shot of Lucas eating veggies and called it a Christmas miracle.

This is my son-in-law, Reese doing some pre-dinner munching.

The kids coloring while waiting to open presents.

After dinner we took a food break and opened presents.

My daughter Lindsay with Mary, who was all pretty in pink with her new cell phone, purse and sunglasses that conveniently matched her dress.

Lindsay & Reese bought me a new electric shaver which I had on my Amazon wish list.

My present from Dale was a new Kindle Touch, which I am dying to use, but I have to finish my other book first.

Mom & Lynda also got Cathy, Lindsay, and I a box of chocolates(I got dark chocolates), a big bottle of shower gel (mine was Peppermint scented, mmmm!) and a scented candle.

We had chocolate cake for dessert.

There was also pecan pie.

I had half a cup of caffeinated coffee and a piece of the chocolate cake. It was yummy and moist.

I went with a light dinner after all the food at Mom's. I just had a big cup of tomato soup with a shot of Texas Pete, exactly what my tummy needed after all the food we had.

It was a very good day. I think everyone had a good time, especially the kids. I was completely exhausted afterwards. It was so nice sleeping in on Sunday. Here's to a very Merry Christmas and hopefully the New Year will be just as awesome. Happy Monday!!!
