Alexia Saute Reds Review

I'm finally up this morning, after repeatedly hitting the snooze button. I sleep so well between hitting the button. It's just a shame I have to keep putting my glasses on to see what time it is. I have my alarm set to allow for snooze time, but if I  hit the button too many times, it's a bad thing. I used to just jump right up when the alarm went off and now I'm snooze dependent, you know, just ten more minutes. I think I will look for a better alarm clock today to add to my growing wish list.

Yesterday morning was pretty much the same as today, but with lots of rain. I had the last cranberry orange muffin with half an apple for breakfast.

I had an awesome lunch. I fixed a bag of Alexia Saute Reds along with a MSF Riblet. If you'd like to try these you can get a coupon here. Alexia has a variety of potato & bread products you can try, including sweet potatoes. The Saute Reds are red potatoes & baby portabellas with green beans & onion in a thyme infused olive oil.

Here is the thyme infuse olive oil that comes frozen in the bag, which you place in hot water to thaw before adding to the pan. I was interrupted after getting this shot and completely forgot to get a shot of the frozen veggies. The Saute Reds were delicious as expected, but they were a little skimpy on the green beans, so I only gave them 4 stars.

In case you're wondering, I added a few handfuls of frozen green beans to the pan. There were maybe 5 green beans in the whole bag.

The longer green beans are theirs. The potatoes went perfectly with my  riblet, which was a little sauce deprived on one end, but there was enough on the side for dipping. I can't wait to eat the rest of this.

Just as I was eating lunch, Lindsay brought the girls over, while she went for her doctor's appointment. I fixed the girls some mac & cheese. Lexi played her Dora game and did a little yoga and Mary colored with crayons and played Doodle Buddy, a drawing app on my ipod. I could tell they were both feeling better though, because they had quite a bit more energy.

Later after Lindsay got back, I fixed some chocolate pudding with graham cracker crumbs in the bottom in applesauce cups which I saved. I put about 4tsp of crumbs in each cup and then poured in the pudding. I'd mixed a little melted butter with the crumbs. It made 6 cups. We all had one. It was pretty good. I wasn't sure if Lexi would go for the crumbs, but she did  and she would have eaten another one, if I'd let her.

They all went home shortly after the pudding. Lexi also had a lunchable. She didn't eat the little butterfinger that came with it, but I did.

I also had the little cheddar on wheat crackers that Lindsay left. I'm like a cleanup crew. I don't get these very often. I may have to get some of them though. I'd forgotten how good they are.

For dinner, I had leftover pinto beans and some brown rice cooked with fried onion and green pepper. I used a little salt, pepper and hickory grill seasoning in it.

I wasn't really in the mood for beans, but I didn't want them to go to waste and after fixing them this way, I'm glad I had them. I really enjoyed it. It's another combo, I will have to try to remember.

Now, I'll be cutting this short. I have to get ready for some last minute shopping that I haven't had a chance to do. Have you gotten your Christmas shopping done? Happy Thursday!

  1. That's funny. I wondered where those crackers went. I'm glad you enjoyed them and at least they didn't go to waste. I love you and will see you Saturday.
