Overstuffed

This morning I feel really well rested considering I was later getting to bed. I got caught up in the book I was reading, but once I got to sleep, I slept like a rock. I don't think I even rolled over until about 5:30 or 6, which is unusual. I think I could have slept longer though, if the alarm hadn't went off, but I got right up and started on breakfast. I've been getting breakfast before blogging, which is nice.

Speaking of breakfast, here's what I had yesterday, a great big banana pudding smoothie. I know I say it all the time, but this is my favorite breakfast, of course when cold weather comes, I don't know that I'll be as anxious to drink them. Lately after drinking one, I sit here on the couch with my throw blanket across my lap and enjoy the warmth of my laptop. It has been cooler in the mornings and I've enjoyed it.

After breakfast I cleaned up the dishes and threw in a load of laundry before getting ready to go to Mom's for dinner. I love having a delay on my washer, so that my clothes don't sit wet the whole time I'm gone. I also had to clean out the frig and make room for leftovers.

We got to Mom's a little after my normal lunch time, so I nibbled on a fig newton to tide me over.

She also had some Muscadine grapes, which we snacked on. I still say these should be jelly.

The "grill masters" grilled up the chicken wings, while everything else was finishing cooking.

These are the "grill masters".

Mom also had oven baked barbecued chicken and....

Roast beast beef....

Overstuffed Portabella mushrooms....

macaroni & cheese....

broccoli cornbread...

mashed potatoes...

corn on the cob....

This is what I put on my plate. I had strawberry salad, broccoli cornbread, stuffed mushroom, and corn on the cob, which was very good with the salad dressing on it. I also loved the spinach in the stuffed mushrooms.
After I finished what was on my plate, the mushrooms weren't the only thing that was overstuffed.

There was also apple pie, apple cinnamon donuts and pound cake which escaped the camera, but you can see the pound cake sometime this week because I did bring a couple of pieces home. There was also fresh strawberries, peaches, and whipped topping for the cake.

As if I weren't still full, later I had a donut and coffee. I liked these donuts from Dunkin, not too sweet, no glaze, just sugar and cinnamon. I also got a little too much creamer in my coffee. I'm not use to fixing a small cup, but this was regular and I didn't want to risk the jitters by drinking a big one. I'm still amazed I slept so good, especially after a cup of coffee.
After my donut and coffee, we got ready and headed home. We had to stop for dog food on the way home. When we got home we put away leftovers, let the dogs out, and I put my laundry in the dryer and that was my day. Be sure to come back and check out the pound cake. Happy Monday!!
