Alexia Saute Sweets Review

I trying to get ahead for tomorrow, so I'm send this one out early. My Saturday didn't start off so well. I spent the first part of the day wishing I'd gotten more sleep, but luckily I felt better as the day went on.

I started off the day with a French toast bagel spread with peanut butter and topped with a little of the Men's Omega 3 Energy Mix we'd gotten at the Fresh Market. The mix included a few prunes, which I don't care. I assumed I would like them. I like raisins, dried cherries, cranberries, but not prunes, maybe the orange flavored ones. Is a flavored prune any better than a plain prune? I used the pumpkin seeds, raisins, dried apple bits, and dried papaya from the mix on my bagel. They could have left out the dark chocolate covered raisins as well, but I will eat them.

It was nearly time for lunch when I felt terribly sleepy and decide to make a cup of coffee. It was 1/2 caf and what better to go with coffee than donuts. The donuts were Hostess gingerbread spice mini donuts. I had two with my coffee, black with just a little sugar.

Because of the coffee and donuts, I had a late lunch. I had the two leftover slices of veggie pizza from yesterday.

There was a last minute addition of Parmesan and oregano.

I also had a Russell Stover Coconut Cream Santa.

After I ate we got ready to go to the grocery store. I had planned to go to Aldi's, but I was late get around to going and we also needed to go to Walmart. I decide we just do Walmart and make a trip to Aldi's another day. I picked up some Alexia Sauté Sweets for dinner. A mixture of sweet potatoes, black beans, corn, red bell pepper, and onion, sounded good. You can get a coupon for Alexia products from their website.

I also had a MorningStar Farms garden burger with the veggies. The Sauté Sweets come with a pouch of seasoned olive oil which you thaw in warm water and put in a pan to sauté the vegetables in. It's a spicy seasoned oil that adds a wonderful southwestern flavor the mixture.

The veggies had to cook a bit to get the sweet potatoes done, but once they were, they were delicious. I really liked this combo and I don't think it would be too hard to duplicate. I gave it 5 stars. It was really yummy!

I ate half of the 2 servings that came in the bag. I could have probably eaten both, but I didn't. I had a nice juicy seedless orange instead. I bought several from Walmart and couldn't wait to try one.

I'm up late again, but hope to sleep late in the morning. We are planning a trip to Ikea in the morning and then maybe over to Mom's if we get back in time. Have a great night/day!!!

  2. I really liked the Saute Sweets. I've discovered that sweet potatoes are delicious in savory dishes as well as sweet, especially spicy ones. I will try to get in a few shots with the turkey. Thanks.
