Thick Blueberry Banana Smoothie Recipe


This was the best smoothie I've fixed so far. It was sweet and delicious and a lovely shade of purple. It did turn out very thick. You could use 1/4 c. of oatmeal instead, but I just ate it with a spoon. It didn't seem as thick when I poured it in the glass, but by the time I got the photos. It had thickened up. It will be great as a SIAB(smoothie in a bowl).

Update 4-09-11 - You can also use 1/3 of cup of Multi Grain Flakes cereal instead of the oatmeal if you prefer.

Ingredients
1/2 C. Fresh Blueberries
1/2 A Medium Banana Sliced
1/2 C. Vanilla Yogurt 1%
1/2 C. Milk 2%
1/3 C. Old Fashioned Oats
2 tsp. Ground Flax
4-5 Ice Cubes

Directions
Throw everything in your blender and blend until smoothie. Enjoy!
You can also use a hand blender. Mine works great and cleanup's a breeze.
